The counselor from the church camp was talking to twelve-year-old Scott about Scott's experience with "snuff." Scott had, with two other boys, tried "snuff" the night before.
The counselor asked, "What did you learn?"
Scott said, "I won't ever try that again! I got really sick on that stuff! Please don't tell Mr. Bill!"
(Bill was the camp director and Scott's next door neighbor.)
The counselor said, "But God knows what you did. What's the difference between God knowing and Bill knowing?"
Scott said, "God won't tell my dad!"

Once I was told that a daily ingestion of garlic would help alleviate my arthritis pain. I tried it for two weeks. But, no matter how often I showered, or what after shave and deodorant I used, the aroma of garlic emanated from me like a sick cloud!
In our text, Gaius walked in truth and truth emanated from him. Since Gaius walked in truth, others perceived truth in him. When truth enters the soul, permeating and saturating the person, then it is perceived by others.
It is said that the diet of certain caterpillars determines the color of the butterfly.
What goes in comes out!
When a person feeds on the Word of God he/she is taking in Truth. Jesus said, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17) And when God's truth is taken in, the brightness and beauty of it shines in the outward life and conversation.
To "walk" in truth means to determinedly receive, learn and live in the principles of the Word of God. When a person does this, the truth within will impart integrity, holiness, faithfulness in actions and conversation.
Determine to daily receive, learn and act upon the principles of truth in God's Word.
Others will sense the beauty of Truth emanating from you!
