THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Worry is about as useless as whispering in a boiler factory!
Ulcers result from mountain climbing over mole hills!

It's the little things that bother,
And put us on a rack;
You can sit on a mountain,
But not on a TACK!

Phil 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Yes, we should be concerned about difficulties.
But, worry? Fret? That's like sittin' on a tack.
Instead of worry, let's get in prayer, and get off the tack!

The word "careful" in verse 6 is translated from the Greek word merimnao (mer-im-nah'-o), which means "to be anxious about."

Anything which might cause anxiety in our lives is worth praying about!
Let us offer our "supplication" and "requests" to God, with "thanksgiving" for what He has already done. By His great love and mercy God has already called us into "His eternal glory by Christ Jesus" (1Pet. 5:10).

If God can reach across that awesome gulf of sin and save us, then He certainly can reach across our difficult times and give us "peace!"
The "peace that passeth understanding" awaits those who relinquish control to God "in Christ." When we realize that a problem is to big for us to handle, and we earnestly request God's care of the problem He give us "the peace of God!"

And His peace "shall keep" us in genuine communion with Him.
Then, we'll be on the mountainous Rock of Christ and not on the tack!

Love ya,
Bruce
