THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Nine year old Joey, was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday school.
"Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his engineers build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he used his walkie-talkie to radio headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved."
"Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" His mother asked.
"Well, no, Mom. But if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!"

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Saturday evening Ann and I attended the Gideon's Pastor Appreciation Banquet in our area.
I was reminded why they do what they do.
They give away Bibles.
They are business men and professionals, who donate their time and energy to giving away God's Word.
They spend their own money, and raise money to do this.
Last year, Gideon's International gave away more than 74MILLION Bibles!
Why? Because they BELIEVE the Scripture above.
God's Word is quicker than a "two-edged sword" and digs deep into our souls telling us whether our thoughts are near to Him or far removed.
He awakens us to our guilt.
But He doesn't leave us there!
He also tells us of His willingness to forgive and save.
All of this is in His WORD!
Christ is the LIVING WORD. God in flesh, come to complete the plan of God's salvation for man.
None of His works fail to perform the plan!
And His life did not return to God void, but did fulfill the total plan of God for man's salvation.
He offered His perfection upon the cross of Calvary in order to pay for our imperfection.
He offered His holiness for our unholiness.
And through His completion and victory, He offers us the WAY back to God.
Give away a Bible!
