THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A Christian couple had a little boy. They wanted to be sure and introduce him to God at an early age. So they were always talking to him about all the wonderful things God has made.
They would ask him questions like "Who made the sun?" and "Who made the rain?"
One evening, Mom looked at the toys scattered on the floor and asked, "Who made this mess?"
After thinking for a few minutes, the little boy said, "God did!"

Psalm 116
10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

The psalmist reminds us that believing what God says about all men being sinners causes great affliction in our souls. That's because when we realize that we truly have sinned against God, then it brings pain to our hearts. The pain is there because we realize our sin has brought the consequence of death.
God is not the author of that confusion .... we can only blame our own selves for the SIN that caused it. Everyone of us human beings are "liars" (verse 11), and NONE of us can escape facing that harsh reality!
We have nothing, on our own, with which to pay God for our sins (vs 12).
Therefore, the only choice we have is to SURRENDER (verse 13), and beg God's forgiveness.
When we surrender to God, we "vow" to become His child.
We "vow" to become obedient to His will and to "grow up" so that we can become useful servants.
We begin to "pay" our vows (verse 14) to God by confessing our sins and SURRENDERING to Him publicly (verse 14).
We continue to "pay" our vows to Him by learning from His Word and GROWING into useful servants.
And we do both in "the presence of all His people."
Now, notice that God is FAITHFUL!
Having lived our lives in obedience to Him, God counts our death as "precious" in His sight!
Upon the moment of our death, we are brought into the fullness of peace with God!
THEN we can say "God did it!"
Ain't God GOOD?!?!
Love ya,
