THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

The professor came into the university biology class with an attitude. He called the roll, then stepped to the podium. He said, "Today, we're gonna give God a chance. If there really is a God, He has 5 minutes to knock me off this podium."

A deathly hush came upon the students in the class. No one said a word. The professor pulled out his stop watch and began to teach the lesson.

Four minutes went by and nothing happened. The professor renewed his challenge. "If there really is a God, He has only 1 minute left to knock me off the podium."

Just then, a big strong ex-marine bolted from his chair and tackled the professor, knocking him from the podium and sending him sprawling across the room to the wall. He got up, brushed himself off, looked at the young man and asked, "WHY did you DO that?"

The young man said, "God was busy so He sent ME!"

Gen 1:1
In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.
KJV

*********************************************************************************************

God was in the beginning. God is timeless, without beginning or end.

It was God Who created all things.

This book, the Bible, is the self-revelation of God Almighty, Creator of all things, Who is and was and is to come!

Revelation 1:8 says,
"I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

Remember, as God reveals Himself to you throughout the Bible that He began by using a name that is PLURAL. The name for "God" in the Hebrew in this text is ELOHIYM (el-o-heem'), which is plural in nature.

In Genesis 1:26, God said, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...."
Yet, in Deuteronomy 6:4 , God says, "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:"

God's Word is perfect in all ways, and never does one part of His Word disagree with another part. In the very beginning of the Bible, God leaves room for the development of "The Trinity": God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. And God also leaves room for perfect unison in these three distinct Persons.

The Bible also says, speaking of Christ, "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." (Col. 2:9) And Hebrews 1:1-3 says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"

We cannot explain "The Trinity." But we CAN understand that the same GOD, Who spoke the worlds into existence, and "formed man out of the dust of the ground," came to die on a cross as just payment for our sins. That same GOD is sustaining the universe today by "the word of His power," and one day will return to collect His children and "judge and make war."

"In the beginning, GOD." And in the END, GOD!
In BETWEEN, what will YOU do with GOD?

Love ya,
Bruce
