THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
Politics is just the art of letting people have your way!
If you think you're getting too much government, just be thankful you're not getting all you're paying for!

1 Tim 2:1-4
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

"First of all," Paul says, PRAY! Pray for ALL men! All men NEED Jesus! God is "longsuffering" and holding eternal judgment in His patience allowing all men the opportunity to be saved. We certainly need to be praying that people will get saved.
And we need to be praying that God will show us how we can lead other people to Jesus! "..this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior..." because God DESIRES that people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
But ESPECIALLY pray for our leaders, those in "authority." That's our physical leaders and our spiritual leaders.
As a pastor, I covet the prayers of Christians for me. I NEED those prayers daily to keep me in the strength of our Lord! Pray that God will show pastors the WONDER of His Word. Pray that God will also keep them from the temptations of the world. Pray that God would strengthen their devotion time. Pray that God will protect their families.
And pray for our governmental leaders! Some of them need strength to STAND for what is right. Some of them need comprehension to KNOW what is right. Some of them need help maintaining the rigorous schedule and keeping their families together. But ALL of them need Jesus!
Pray for our Executive Branch to administer laws in an appropriate and fair manner.
Pray for our Legislative Branch to enact laws that are unbiased and equitable.
Pray for our Judicial Branch to interpret and judge according to the law and not popular opinion.
Remember, you get what you ask for (Matthew 21:22).
Remember, when you don't ask, you don't receive (James 4:2).
Love ya,

Perhaps the biggest problem with our leadership is that we get what we pray for!
