THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Many years ago, in South Louisiana, lots of people were doin' really good. Oil rigs were running everywhere, and everyone was gettin' rich. That was called the "oil boom."

But not many years after that, the bottom fell out of the oil business. Money slowed down, and people were having a hard time. That was called the "oil bust."

During the "oil bust," two women were walking down the street in a South Louisiana town. They were talking about how times were hard, and they were having to make the dollar s t r e t c h.

Just then, a frog hopped up on the sidewalk. He opened his mouth, and TALKED! He said, "I once was a rich oil man, but someone turned me into a frog. If one of you will kiss me, I'll turn back into a rich oil man and reward you greatly."

Really quick, one of the women grabbed that frog, and put him in her purse. She latched the purse up tight.

The other lady asked, "Why did you put that frog in your purse?"

She said, "Anybody knows that, these days, a talking frog is worth more than a rich oil man!"

I can tell you for sure that having Jesus is worth more than all the oil men in the world - even today! He has greater riches than we can utilize!

We are INcomplete without Him; but we are "complete in Him!"

Jesus is "the head of all principality and power!" He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all there is!

And, my dear Christians, Jesus has hitched the pulling power of His "fulness" to your wagon of salvation! If He has begun the work of salvation in you, then He will surely complete it! (See Philippians 1:6)

Not only that, but WHILE you are going about your daily lives, Christ is employing His power in YOU!

Jesus is unswerving in His faithfulness, unchanging in His love, infinite in His power, and limitless as to His wisdom. And He has given YOU access to all that He is!

So the next time the ole devil tries to remind you of your weaknesses and problems....remind the ole devil of your LORD!

Let us "hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." (Heb 3:6)

Love ya,
Bruce
