THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Groaning inside is what you do when you think about returning to youth, but can't forget about chemistry and algebra.

Rom 8:22-23
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

The whole of creation "groaneth" because of man's sinfulness.
There is "pain" because of what sin has done.
Christians also "groan within ourselves"; those who "have the firstfruits of the Spirit."
We groan because people destroy themselves with sin instead of receiving the sin Healer, Jesus.
We groan because of the suffering people endure due to sin.
The Greek word from which "groan" is translated is stenazo (pronounced sten ad' zo).
It does mean sigh or have grief.
It also means to PRAY SILENTLY!
Because of what sin has done and is doing, we have a burden of grief.
But also, we continually pray for the fullness of the "adoption" by our Lord Jesus.
Today, we have only received the down payment, which is the earnest of His Holy Spirit.
The "adoption" papers are signed in blood by our Lord, Jesus.
And, we now await His coming to receive us into His heavenly home.
One day (and soon I think), our Lord shall bring in the fullness of the "adoption."
Until that day, let us "groan" with ANTICIPATION.
Yes, that includes bearing a burden of grief for what sin has done and is doing.
But let us "groan" PRAYING!
Let us pray for others to receive the sure earnest of the "adoption!"
Love ya,
Bruce
