THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
Little Brian had jeard the story of the "pillar monk," Symeon the Stylite, in Sunday School. He was captivated by this approach to seeking God's presence and approval. So he decided to imitate the "pillar monk."
But Brian was interrupted by his mother. She came into the kitchen yelling, "BRIAN! Get down off that stool on the table this instant! You're gonna fall and break your neck!"
Brian went storming from the room, saying, "You can't even become a saint in your own home!"

2 Pet 3:18
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Martha Graybeal Rowlett, in her book, "Responding To God," wrote about Howard Thurman, a professor at Boston University.
At the beginning of each year, Thurman would write in a journal his understanding of God's nature. At the beginning of next year he would compare his newest entry with that of last year's entry. If he didn't see a real change in his statement, he considered that he hadn't GROWN in knowledge of God. And he would count the whole previous year as wasted! He EXPECTED to grow in Christ every year.
As we look forward to beginning a new year, may we consider keeping a Scripture study and prayer journal each day.
And I pray that we not only grow in "knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;" but also in "GRACE!"
Have a safe and Happy New Year!
Love ya,
Bruce
