THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Ole "Doc" loved to fish.
A man asked him once, "Is it true that fishing stimulates the brain?"
Doc said, "Maybe. But one thing is sure: fishing does stimulate the imagination."

Fishing may not stimulate the brain; but grace certainly stimulates the heart!

Someone once said, "If your theology is bent, your life will be crooked."
But if we learn a little bit more about grace, we learn to contemplate matters in the depth of love.

Grace stoops!
Actually, one of the translations of the Hebrew word for grace is "to bend."
God condescended to come down to us in the Person of Jesus Christ.
Our use of grace should be to "bend" and come to others in the love of Christ.

Grace substitutes!
Grace came through Jesus because He became our substitute on the cross.
We deserved that death, and more; but He came to accept it Himself and allow us to be free through His victory.
Our use of grace should be to substitute the gospel into our conversation and action with others.

Grace saves!
Jesus' grace is greater than our disgrace.
He saves from the guttermost to the uttermost.
His grace is greater than all our sin.
Our use of grace should be to bring others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Grace serves!
Jesus said He didn't come to be served but to serve.
Then He said, "As my Father hath sent me, even so send I YOU."
Our use of grace should be to serve others that they may know Christ.

Grace schools!
Jesus took 12 disciples and trained them so they could train others.
Paul took hold of that concept and instructed that we do the same:
"Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me
among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
(2 Tim 2:1-2).
Our use of grace should be to help those who come to know Christ learn of Him in such a way that they can train others.

When our hearts are stimulated by grace we will:
Stoop to help others as Jesus did - unconditionally;
Substitute the gospel into our conversation and actions;
Save others by leading them to Jesus;
Serve God and serve others under His direction;
and School those who come to Christ so that they can become educators of others.

GROW and LEARN in GRACE!

Love ya!
