THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The police officer was writing the ticket. He asked the man, "Didn't you hear me whistle?"

The man said, "I'm sorry officer, I guess I'm a little hard of hearing."

The officer said, "That's all right. You'll get your hearing tomorrow."

Prov 8:32-36
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Communications is to "impart information from one person to another with meaning and understanding." This is like a two-way street. There must be talking and listening.

Often we talk to God by taking our prayer requests to Him. But I'm afraid that less often we listen to God by reading our Bible.

God has much information He wants to share with us: wisdom, instruction, knowledge and understanding. God says we will be "Blessed" (verse 34) if we listen to Him. The word "blessed" means to have blissful joy. After all, wisdom comes from God. And God says He will IMPART wisdom to us if we will listen to Him.

True wisdom is Jesus Christ. Paul said in 1Corinthains 1:24, "But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God."

You see, the "wisdom of God" brings "life" (verse 35 above) to those who receive Him. And without Him there is no REAL LIFE.

Are you listening to God?

Love ya,
Bruce

Twenty-six times in Deuteronomy, we read the words "observe to do," which mean listen with intent to obey.
