THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A man went to the doctor and told him that his wife might have a hearing problem. The man didn't know how to approach his wife because she might be very sensitive about the situation.

The doctor said, "Just speak in a normal voice about 20 feet away, then closer, then closer. Then you'll know if she has a hearing problem."

That night, he came into the doorway of the kitchen. At about 15 feet from his wife he asked, "What's for dinner?"
He heard no answer.
Then he moved to about 10 feet and asked the same.
He heard no answer.
Then he moved right beside her and asked the same.
She said, "George, for the THIRD time, 'CHICKEN!'"

Isa 64:4
4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

What a great joy it will be to enter heaven!
What a wonderful experience to look full in the face of our Lord and Savior!
What marvelous scenes await us there!

The realization that we have of our Lord here in this earth is small. We have only tasted of that which is yet to be a full meal! As Israel was in the wilderness, we have but one cluster of grapes from Eshcol, but there in heaven we will have the full vineyard!

Today, we have only an "earnest" of God's Holy Spirit, but in heaven we shall be totally filled with His fullness! We shall, as Paul says, "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I shall know even as I am known." (1Cor. 13:12)

Today we have enjoyed the firstfruits of His love, yet that initiates hungering and thirsting for more!

Today, let me know the joy of visiting with Him in prayer, and being assured that He listens, comforts and cheers!
Today, let me know the wonder of finding Him in every page of the Word and seeing glimpses of His glory!
Today, let me feast on the beauty of His "handywork," this earth and this universe!
Today, let me BEGIN to comprehend His majesty, because that is MORE than I deserve!
For there is more in this "earnest" than I can receive in this tent of clay!

Love ya,
Bruce
