THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A pastor finished his sermon and was standing at the door greeting members as they left church.
One lady came by and said, "Pastor! I am just FILLED with the message this morning!"
The pastor thanked her, then turned to a teenage boy who was next in line.
"Son," asked the pastor, "What did you think of the message this morning?"
The young man looked thoughtful, then said, "To be honest, Sir, I got a belly full of you too!"

Luke 11:27-28
27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

_______THOUGHT_________________________________________________________
The lady who spoke up in verse 27 above had just heard Jesus deliver a short, but very effective sermon. She was in awe of the realization of WHO Jesus was, and she openly proclaimed a blessing upon the mother of Jesus.
She thought the mother of Jesus was particularly "blessed" to have given Him birth, and to have nurtured Him during formative years. Surely, Jesus' mother had experienced great joy at the special communion she had with Him.
And Jesus Himself proclaimed it so, saying "Yea."
But then, our Lord proclaimed a truth that is particularly worth noting.
He/she who hears and keeps the Word of God in his/her heart has as great a communion with Him as did His physical mother!
In another place, Jesus said, (John 14:21) "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
In hearing and obeying the Word of God we express our love for Him.
And, in so doing, He expresses His love for us by giving us His PRESENCE!
The wonderful Word of God is written so that when we hear and obey,
we know His presence and have sweet communion with our Lord!
Love ya,
Bruce
