THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Working as a deputy, I was called to the preschool to write a report on vandalism that had occurred during the weekend.

On my way to the office, children were coming in from a recess.
One little girl stopped, and was carefully looking at me.
She looked me up and down, noticing my badge, radio, gun, etc.

She said, "Mr., are you a policeman?"
I said, "Yes, I am."
She said, "Good. My Mommy told me if I ever needed help to call a policeman."

I knelt down beside her and asked, "And, do you need help, honey?"
She said, "Yes, Sir. My shoe laces are untied."

SCRIPTURE_____________________________________________________

Heb 4:15-16
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
KJV

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

As I grow older, I find this Scripture more and more meaningful!

All too often, we face difficulties which we think too menial to ask God for help. We think we can just "work through it."

But our Lord, who came in flesh to this world, has faced EVERYTHING we face.
For "there is no new thing under the sun" (Ecc. 1:9).
Every temptation of this day (in perhaps different clothing) Jesus faced.

And, He KNOWS how to "deliver the godly out of temptations"! (2Pet. 2:9)

Jesus "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." (Above, Heb 4:15)
And, "...by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Heb 9:12)
He sprinkled the pure blood of His sacrifice upon the "Mercy seat" of God.

NOTHING we face is to "menial" for our Lord.
He offers IMMEDIATE help.

Let us remember to call upon Him for that help!

Love ya,
Bruce
