THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

FIVE TOP SIGNS YOU MAY NOT BE READING YOUR BIBLE ENOUGH:

5)The Preacher announces the sermon is from Galatians ... and you check the table of contents.
4) You think the Minor Prophets worked in the quarries.
3) You open to the Gospel of Luke and a WWII Savings Bond falls out.
2) Your favorite Old Testament book is Genesis, because it's the first one.
1) You open your Bible to the Song of Solomon, and the pages are still stuck together from newness.

Heb 13:5-6
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

The word "conversation" means style, mode, or character.

As Christians, our lives should be lived in the style that reflects contentment. And the reason for that contentment is the fact that God has said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

The realization of God's promise makes us bold: bold in knowing that God is always near, and that He HELPS. Therefore the difficult things that happen in this life are passing events. They don't come to stay; they are soon passed away. And God HELPS us through all of them with His presence and power.

How greatly we need to study our Bibles and rest in the fact that "He hath SAID!"

He hath said:
Our peace is in Him,
Our strength is in Him,
Our joy is in Him,
Our hope is in Him,
And, our LIFE is in Him!

God has given us a conquering weapon for all our fears, doubts, distresses, snares, temptations and self-corruptions. That weapon is His Holy Word.

For "He hath said 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.'"

Let us spend time reading and studying God's Word.
Then let us live boldly, knowing His promises.

Love ya,
Bruce
