THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Former Under Secretary of the Interior John C. Whitaker told a story about a fishing trip he made annually.
The trip was to a small place in Nova Scotia, where the population swelled to nine in summer and stayed steady at two in the winter.
Miss Mildred welcomed him on one of the fishing trips. After he went into the kitchen, she said, "Johnyy, I hate to admit it but I don't know where Washington is."
Realizing she wasn't kidding, he said, "Well, that's where the president is. That's like the prime minister in Ottowa."
She asked, "How many people live there?"
He said, "About two million."
She said, "Just think of that! Two million people all living so far away from everything!"

John 17:22
"And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"

The High Priestly prayer of our Lord has always amazed me. This particular verse is really special to my heart.
Jesus hasn't given us a small portion of His glory, but the WHOLE glory! We would be satisfied with just "crumbs" from the Master's table, but He has given us ALL! In salvation, Jesus brings us to sit at the full feast of God.
Christ wants His church to be as full as Himself. That glory which God the Father bestowed upon Jesus is NOW GIVEN to the church. I wonder in amazement at how little of His glory we DEMONSTRATE today.
Jesus has given the church full freedom to take all that is His today!
And just look at the PURPOSE: "that they may be one, even as we are one.." The glory that we have from Christ is for UNITY!
Oh! How often we fight DISunity in the church today! Yet, Christ has given us ALL that we might have full unity!
Come! Drink from the Fountain today!
THEN be "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." (Eph 4:3)
The church can accomplish so much MORE with the fulness of the glory of Christ operating within!
Love ya,
Bruce
