THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A man was an olympic runner in 1928.
He had spent many years training as an athlete.

On his 90th birthday, he was interviewed by a reporter.
The reporter asked, "What exercises do you do to stay fit?"

The man said, "Son, when you're pushing 90, that's all the exercise you need!"

Ps 31:10
For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

Two facts of life:
1) We face much grief in living,
2) We face death because of our sin.

In ourselves, we are weak creatures.
Over the years, our own "strength faileth."

But we can face the world's grief daily by the strength of our Lord, Jesus.
And we can face death confident that our Lord, Jesus will deliver us through even that battle.

God told Paul that HIS "strength is made perfect in weakness." (2Cor. 12:9)

Let us acknowledge our weakness and rely upon His strength!
Let us not face the world daily by our own "might" or "power," but by HIS "Spirit" (Zec.4:6).

For it is God IN us that teaches us "to war" in the daily battle (Ps. 18:34).
And our "victory" over life is in and through our Lord, Jesus (1Cor. 15:57).

Love ya,
Bruce
