THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

The boss of a big company, needing to call one of his employees about an urgent problem with one of the main computers, dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello."
"Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?"
The child whispered, "No."
Surprised, and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your
Mommy there?" >br?
"Yes"
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the earpiece on the phone the boss asked, "What is that noise?"
"A hello-copper" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" asked the boss, now truly alarmed.
In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper."
Alarmed, concerned, and even more then just a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle: "ME."

Ezek 3:7
7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

We must learn to think of God's Word as a love letter to us personally. As Mark Twain once said, "I have no trouble with those parts of the Bible I don't understand, but the parts I do understand give me the most trouble."
The "house of Israel" includes ME! I am adopted by the price of blood from my Dear Savior. I am "grafted in" to the vine of His own Person.
Hear the charges against the "house of Israel."
We do not "hearken" to our Lord's voice! Oh! How often I have failed to read and study God's Word as I should! I am guilty of not LISTENING!
Oh! How often I have been "impudent." It is true, I have doubted my Lord's ability to save me out of difficult situations and relied upon myself. It is true, I have worshipped half-heartedly. It is true, I have complained when things didn't go as I felt they should.
Also, I'm guilty of being "hardhearted." Oh! How often I have failed to be turned by my Lord's chastisement. It is true, I have walked by the homeless without sharing, and have failed to lend a helping hand to my fellow man.
THANK GOD for a Savior Whose blood washes away sin and even cures the disease!
THANK GOD for a Savior Who, as a loving Father, deals patiently with an ear deafened by selfish desires!
THANK GOD for a Savior Who tenderly cares for His impudent child!
THANK GOD for a Savior Who still gently speaks to a hardhearted soul!
And thank God for continuing to WORK on and in me!
Oh, Dear Lord, come and melt my heart as wax and mold me into the form of my Dear Savior!
Love ya,
Bruce
