THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Sean was trying to get Rob to attend church.
Sean went on and on about how he attended church each time the doors were open.

Rob asked Sean, "Ok. If you attend church so much, what color are your pastor's eyes?"

Sean sheepishly said, "I really don't know. When he prays, he closes his eyes. And, when he preaches I close mine."

SCRIPTURE_____________________________________________________

Ex 28:36-38
36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
38 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

It seems a little odd, at first reading.
Aaron wore a "mitre" on which a plate was engraved "HOLINESS TO THE LORD."
At the same time, Aaron bore "the iniquity of the holy things!"

Later, our Lord Jesus was crucified wearing a "crown of thorns."
He bore "the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6).
Yet, He presents us in His own "HOLINESS TO THE LORD!"

When we look at the two together, there is a great revelation!
Just think of "the iniquity of the holy things" in our lives:
unfaithful in prayer, lax in Bible study, formality in worship, lukewarmness in evangelism, irreverence in focus and growth.

Yet, our Lord Jesus presents us continually before the throne of God in His own "HOLINESS TO THE LORD!"

Let us adore Him, honor Him, worship Him, praise Him!
For, without His continued outpouring of grace and mercy, we could never be saved!

Love ya,
Bruce
