THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><>

If you know what a wine brick is, you were drinking during prohibition. When wine was outlawed, bootleggers began to press grap concentrate into the form of bricks, which wasn't illegal. On the label was this warning: "Do not let this brick sit in a gallon of water for 21 days. It will ferment and become illegal wine."

Prov 15:3
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs is full of CONTRASTS. For instance:

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." (Prov. 15:1)
"The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight." (Prov. 15:8)

But perhaps no other statement in the Bible is more confusing than Proverbs 15:3 above.

Is God really looking at EVIL? We could be certain that God sees GOOD. But does God really look at EVIL? Someone said that God turns His head away from evil.

Friends, if God didn't LOOK at evil, then He wouldn't be able to DEFEAT it!

What's really amazing to me is that God is LOOKING at the good AND the evil, and.... He knows how to "..work all things together for good to them that love the Lord, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Rom. 8:28)

Yes! There are EVIL things that happen in my life (and yours). Sometimes they happen because of my stupidity or rebellious nature. Sometimes they are caused by other people. And sometimes they are caused by circumstances.

But the GOOD in my life is God HIMSELF! And He is constantly on alert, seeing how to OVERCOME the evil!

Ain't God GOOD?

Love ya,
Bruce

Sometimes we're so busy adding up our troubles, we forget to count our blessings!
