THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A nurse on the pediatric ward, before listening to the little ones' chests, would plug the stethoscope into their ears and let them listen to their own hearts first.

The children's eyes would always light up with awe.

But she never got a response to equal 4-year-old David's. Gently she tucked the stethoscope in his ears and placed the disc over his heart. "Listen," she said, "What do you suppose that is?"

David drew his eyebrows together in a puzzled line and looked up as if lost in the mystery of the strange tap-tap-tapping deep in his chest.

Then his face broke out in a wondrous grin, "Is that Jesus knocking?" he asked.

Yesterday the U.S. Senate Finance Committee voted 15 to 8 in approval of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Even though there was an "oversight" in which she missed paying taxes. (She paid back taxes of $7,040 and $878 in interest to amend returns from 2005-2007.)

And, even though it was recently proven that she received FAR more in donations from late-term abortion doctor George Tiller. (She originally reported $12,450, but had received directly $39,600. And, later, the Family Research Council reported they had a letter from George Tiller that he had contributed more than $200,000 to a Political Action Committee which was designed to defeat Sebelius' opponent.)

According to townhall.com, "The Senate is expected to confirm Sebelius despite the efforts of leading pro-life advocates. National organizations that have opposed Sebelius' nomination include the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), National Right to Life Committee, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, Concerned Women for America, American Family Association and Americans United for Life."

Yesterday I wrote, "When immorality looms around us, do we not have "yet to speak on God's behalf?"" (Job 36:2)
Shall the right be silenced while the wrong is publicized?

Do you have your spiritual stethoscope to the heart of America?
Do you hear Jesus knocking?

Let us pray!
And, let us speak out!

Love ya,
Bruce
