THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
To encourage better spelling, somebody on the Chicago DAILY NEWS put up this notice on the bulletin board:
"Let's set our sights high. Let's learn to spell JUDGMENT correctly. Let's repeat to ourselves each day, 'Today I will spell JUDGMENT without an E. ' Who shall be the first to announce this accomplishment. Praise be unto him. Deranged. "
"Dear Deranged,
I tried to spell judgment without an 'e' and it came out judgmnt. Now I'm in a prdicamnt. Confusd. "

Ps 1:5-6
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
(KJV)

Well, it really doesn't matter how you spell judgment, one day God is going to make the eternal decision concerning every single soul.
In the Bible, judgment is used in different ways.
First, it is used to describe deliverance (See Deuteronomy 10:18 and Psalm 37:38 for instance).
Secondly, it is used to describe penal decisions about man's wrongs (See Leviticus 19:15 and Deuteronomy 16:19 for instance).
But most importantly, the word judgment is used to describe God's FINAL decision about man's eternal destination (See Hebrews 9:27 for instance).
2 Cor 5:10
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
On earth today, we can only judge the "fruit" of a person's life (Matthew 7:20). We can only tell if a person is living right now for or against Christ. We cannot determine the internal intent of the heart.
But at the final day of time, all will be resurrected to face Christ (Revelation 1:14 and 19:12). He will look upon all men with eyes that are a flaming fire, and discern the internal intent of the heart.
At that time God's "books" will be open (Revelation 20:12). The books that record the lives and deeds of all men. And THE "BOOK" will be opened -- the book of life in which are recorded the names of those who have surrendered to Christ.
If we live for Christ today, we have no fear of the final judgment (1John 1:17). Instead we have confidence that we are washed in the blood of Christ and absolved of sin. And we have boldness to enter His presence spiritually each day and beg forgiveness.
Love ya,
Bruce
