"Many who cry so loudly for justice would soon beg for mercy if justice were done to them."

O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

Jeremiah had endured great affliction at the hands of his fellow man because he spoke the truth from God. He had been censored, beaten, jailed, and dropped into a deep pit. He was called the "weeping prophet" because he saw the demise of his nation, and prophesied of their destruction with tears. Yet Jeremiah speaks with confidence concerning the justness and salvation of God.
Do you, my Christian friend, sometimes suffer INjustice in this world? Then know that God has ALREADY made it right before His eternal throne. You can know because:
He HIMSELF has "pleaded the causes" of our soul. "Thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul." We do not have to trust it, hope it, or think it. It is not of ourselves that injustices are corrected; it is of CHRIST!
Christ HAS DONE it already! "Thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul," the Scripture says. Jesus is constantly interceding on our behalf before the throne of God (Hebrews 7:25). While we are living with injustices, He is preparing for us to live without them.
Those injustices which yield fearful, doubtful feelings are made right before God by the perfect justness of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He positively pleads. He eternally pleads. Count them as corrected!
Also, each Christian has once entered the presence of Christ to "work out" his/her "own salvation with fear and trembling." (Phil 2:12) We came with conviction of guilt by His Holy Spirit. We came with contrition for sin because of His calling. And we came with confidence of His compassion because of His justness.
It is not of our heritage, goodness nor works that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is of His GRACE - "God's Riches At Christ's Expense."
Then let us rest in the fact of HIS perfect salvation! "Thou hast redeemed my life!" Even our own injustices to Christ have been made right by His justness! He is the "justifier of them which believe in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:26)
Sing His praises! He is JUST!
Love ya,
Bruce
