THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A child came home from Sunday School and told his mother that he had learned a new song about a cross-eyed bear named Gladly.

It took his mother a while before she realized that the hymn was really: "Gladly The Cross I'd Bear."

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

The Creator, the King of Glory, was disowned by His own created beings!
The Prince of Peace was refused by the very religion He had formed in the wilderness!
"He came unto his own, and his own received him not." John 1:11

How often have I disowned His Kingship over my soul?
How often have I replaced His Lordship with myself, and done what I wanted rather than obey my King?
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
James 4:17

As often as I have done so, I have refused His "peace."
For, when I am not bearing the cross for His glory, there is no peace in my soul.
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace." John 16:33

O Lord Jesus!
Please forgive me for taking lordship of my soul to myself and refusing the peace of Your indwelling!
Help me to own you ALWAYS as the King of who I am!
Help me, that I may ALWAYS know the peace of Your indwelling presence!

Love ya,
Bruce
