THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Two elementary students had just graduated from the 6th grade. One turned to the other and said, "It's wonderful to know all there is to know."

Phil 3:8
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Until we arrive at Jesus' feet in heaven we shall not know all there is to know about Him. But we can know more about Him each and every day.
Knowledge of Christ is a PERSONAL knowledge. We cannot know Him by use of someone elses experience. We must experience Him ourselves, and relate to Him on a personal level. David said our hearts should "pant" after Christ as the deer "pants" after water. (see Psalm 42:1)
Knowledge of Christ is TRUE knowledge. Jesus said if we "continue in" His Word then we will know the "TRUTH." Jesus is the truth! (See John 8:31-32)
Paul says here that knowledge of Christ is EXCELLENT. It is far above the education of the world. Knowledge of Christ is above "breadth, length, depth and height" of things, for it "passeth knowledge." (see Ephesians 3:19)
Knowledge of Christ is EXCITING. The more we learn of Him, the more we want to learn of Him. The more we learn of Him, the more able we are to endure hardships, trials, sorrows and temptations. And the more we learn of His holiness, righteousness, kindness, love and compassion, the more we am filled with His passion.
Knowledge of Christ is HAPPINESS. To know Him as God Who loves me and died for me is more than happiness itself. For He is the joy of all joys, the end of all things.
Knowledge of Christ is SATISFYING. Paul says in the text above that knowing Christ helps us to "count all things as loss." Knowing Christ is knowing the "River of Life" which slakes our spiritual thirst and overflows from our souls to others.
KNOW Christ, KNOW life.
NO Christ, NO life.
Love ya,
Bruce
