THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

One neighbor told another, "I had to shoot my dog last night."

The other neighbor asked, "Was he mad?"

The first neighbor responded, "Well, I don't think it made him glad!"

Gen 21:6
And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
KJV

It was beyond comprehension for Sarah to bear a child at her age. One can readily see how the incongruous situation brought laughter to her heart and lips!

First, she laughed because it was incredible to believe! Is it not incredible to believe that our God and Savior has pardoned we who are lost and undone in sin? Is it not incredible to believe that God, against Whom we have sinned so greatly, could have such mercy and grace?

Second, she laughed because a son would bring such joy to her soul. Is it not joyous to know that God has granted us eternal life in heaven with Him? Is it not joyous to know that one blessed day we shall see face to face our Savior in whom we believe without sight?

Third, she laughed because others would see her joy and join in her happiness. Is it not true that people love to be around joy-filled people?

Let us join with Sarah and laugh for joy at the great deliverance our Savior has given us!
Let us join with Sarah and laugh with joy because we have such sweet fellowship with our God!
Let us join with Sarah and laugh so that others will join our joy!

"Rejoice with joy unspeakable," says 1 Peter 1:8.
