THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Harry & Velma's only son had gone off to college.
One day Velma asked Harry, "How long has it been since we heard from our son?"
Harry said, "Just a second, I'll go look in the checkbook."

Every Christian should be familiar with this passage of Scripture.
First, it is a part of Jesus' "High Priestly Prayer" in the Garden of Gethsemane, just before He was arrested and taken to be crucified.
But, second, it is a foundational truth which is important to every Christian.
In order to know salvation and real life, we must "know...Jesus Christ..."
For this is the only way to know "the only true God..."
If one comes to know Jesus, he/she will come to know God.
If one comes to know God, he/she will do it by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
And after coming to "know" Christ as Lord of our lives, then knowing Him
better strengthens our faith.
Learning of Jesus personally and experientially is what initially bring us to the conviction of sin. And further study of Him in the Bible reveals the character of Christ which tells of His:
unfailing love,
undying devotion,
continued encouragement,
certain completion of our salvation.
The more we "know" Christ, the more hope we have.
The more we "know" Christ, the more assurance we have.
The more we "know" Christ, the more patience we have.
The more we "know" Christ, the more grace we see ourselves receiving, and the more gracious we are toward others.
Therefore, let us continue to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." (2 Peter 3:18)
Love ya,
