THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

(The following was “borrowed” from my retired friend Pat Lofton.)

A famous preacher was teaching a Bible Conference to a group of women way back in the good old days.
Some of the older saints began to criticize the younger ladies for not wearing stockings at the meetings.

They were surprised when the preacher/teacher informed them that the virgin Mary did not wear stockings.
Also, a little research revealed that stockings came into existence during the Roman Empire time
and were worn only by prostitutes!

Rom 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

THOUGHT____________________________________

The world of today is as much opposed to Christianity as it ever was.

It seems pride is applauded more than humility.
The manner of clothes worn reflects the “me” attitude.
Virtually every TV commercial is based on two themes: silliness, or sex.
Purchase of luxury today, usually outweighs purchase of food:
last year, U.S. citizens spent more on gambling than on food!

To be “conformed” literally means to put on the appearance of something else.
It is certainly not “Godly” to be “conformed to this world!”

Christians, let us “renew” our hearts by minding more precious things.
Let us review, learn and put into practice the “good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God!”

Let us be “transformed” into Christlikeness!

To “prove” the will of God being in our lives, we exhibit His will in the living of our lives.

The will of God is “good,” “acceptable,” and “perfect”!

Learn it!
LIVE it!

Love ya!
