THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Sometimes legalists are too "wrapped up" in details.
For instance, a lawyer was questioning a witness in court.
Lawyer: What is your date of birth?
Witness: July fifteenth.
Lawyer: What year?
Witness: Every year.

The Bible says, "The law of the LORD is perfect.." (Ps 19:7).
The Bible also says, "...there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (Ps 14:3).
Therefore, man cannot be justified by his own works.
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..." (Isa 64:6)
When we stand before God in judgment, we have no "hope of righteousness" in ourselves or our works.
NONE of us can satisfy the Divine righteousness required by God's law!
However Christians, "through the Spirit" of God have BELIEVED and SURRENDERED to Christ.
Thus, through His Holy Spirit we "wait" - look for, and fully expect "the HOPE of righteousness by faith!"
"1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have ACCESS by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in HOPE of the glory of God." (Rom 5:1-2)
When the ole legalist devil reminds you of your sinfulness,
remind him of your destination "by grace ... through faith" in Christ Jesus!
Love ya,
Bruce
