THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
A younger missionary couple were entertaining an older missionary couple, and showed them "The Saturday Evening Post." The older missionary man wanted to know how much a subscription was. So Mrs. Higgs told him she would go and check.
She went to find out, but as things go in a younger couple's life, one of the children demanded attention. It was about ten minutes before she came back, and the conversation had long since shifted.
She said, "Nine-ninety Mr. Gates."
He looked at her a little funny and said, "Nighty-night Mrs. Higgs."

Prov 10:4-5
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
(KJV)

Diligence in business is required in order to obtain and maintain possessions. The person who is "slack" in his business will lose profit and possessions.
This proverb is supplemented with an example: the person who is diligent about gathering in harvest time exhibits wisdom. But the person who "sleepeth in harvest" exhibits laxness.
Jesus applied this proverb to spiritual values also (Matthew 9:37-38). He who is diligent about bringing other people to Christ exhibits wisdom. He who is NOT bringing others to Christ exhibits rebellion toward Christ.
"He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad." (Matthew 12:30)
The question is, are we LISTENING to what Jesus says?
Love ya,
