THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
I read an article the other day that said there are three typical signs of stress:
impulse buying,
sleeping too much,
and, driving too fast.
Who're they tryin' to kid?!?
That's my idea of a perfect day!

1 Thess 5:5-8
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

_______THOUGHT_________________________________________________________
Christians are spiritually born again by grace through faith in Christ.
We are, through that spiritual new birth, made to be DIFFERENT.
In the moral sense, Christians are "of light," and "of day."
One of the purposes of life for a Christian is to live showing morality.
We do not live "of the night," or, to hide immorality.
Oversleeping and drunkenness are characteristic of those who live for the "night."
But the Christian is to live "sober;" alert to moral righteousness.
We are to live in "faith:" clinging to Christ as Lord and Savior.
We are to live in "love:" caring more for others than self.
We live this way BECAUSE: we have "salvation" through Christ.
And, our desire is to see others find Him also.
Be children of "the day!"
Let us not exhibit the characteristics of moral laxness and lethargy!
Let us exhibit attentiveness to moral righteousness and evangelistic concern!
Love ya,
Bruce
