THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
Most of you are familiar with the comic strip, "PEANUTS."
One day, the first frame of that comic strip showed Sally speaking to Charlie Brown, "We have to write a short piece for school that expresses our personal philosophy. So far I have written, 'Who cares?' and 'Forget it.'"
In the next frame Charlie says, "How about 'Why me?'"
In the next frame, Sally says, "That's good, I'll fit it in."

1 Tim 3:14-16
14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
(KJV)

Paul says that the church is the "house of God." It is the place where God's people dwell. The FAMILY room. It is the place of learning for God's children.
Paul also says that the "church of the Living God" is the PILLAR AND GROUND of truth in the world. When Christ conceived the church, He did it for the purpose of ESTABLISHING truth, and CONTINUING truth in the world.
The church is the second of only two God-formed institutions on earth. The first institution formed by God was marriage, and thus, the family. The family and the church are to carry the TRUTH of God.
Verse 16 establishes the truth that the family and the church are to tell:
And Jesus is surely COMING AGAIN!
My friend, Dr. John Traylor, expounded upon this verse in our Winter Bible Study. He said, "Life must be lived in the here and now, looking forward to the there and then."
As Christians, we are to live fulfilling God's purpose in us - to communicate the truth of Christ to the world.
Love ya,

Without a church active in propagating the gospel, the world has an absence of truth.
