THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A little boy was overhead praying:
"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it.
I'm having a real good time like I am."

1 Peter 2:4-5
4 To whom coming , as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the "Living Stone!" The "Cornerstone" which is essential in the foundation for the building of God's Kingdom. Without Him, we would be nothing!
Though Jesus was rejected of men and crucified on a cruel cross, He was "chosen of God" and is the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (Rev 13:8) Though He was crucified, Jesus is "He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore.." (Rev 1:18).
Jesus is "precious" because His blood is "the blood of sprinkling" (Hebrews 12:24). His blood is vital for our lives to be justified before God! He is "precious" because His is "the fulness of the godhead bodily!" (Colossians 2:9). In Him lies the goodness, the grace, the mercy and the salvation of God!
Dear Christian, when you were saved, you came humbly to Him, falling on your knees in recognition of deplorable sin. You came guilty, lost, helpless, and begging for His "precious" blood to be applied to your life. You came in surrender of your being to Him Who called you by conviction and convincing.
And Jesus changed your life! He made you a "lively stone!" He put NEW life in you by His Holy Spirit! He gave you cleansing, release from guiltiness, and realization of eternal life by His "precious" blood!
Today, realize the meaning of the Scripture: "to Whom coming." Jesus is not only Christ to Whom you came ONCE for eternal salvation; He is also the One to Whom you come DAILY!
It is by coming to Christ DAILY that you are "built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."
We need Christ because He is essential to acceptance before God ONCE in salvation's eternal cleansing and sealing.
We also need Christ DAILY because He is essential to our ongoing relationship with God.
Christians, we are only as good, able and powerful as the freshness of our relationship with Jesus.
Love ya,
Bruce
