THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Childhood is when we make funny faces in the mirror.
Middle age is when the mirror gets even!

Each time I read the story of Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, the two-edged sword of God's Word cuts through my own heart!
Indeed I'm quite sure God has found me lacking in exhibiting the image of Christ (2Cor 3:18) into which I should be more conformed each day. Looking in the mirror of His image shows my lacking!
Our Lord, Jesus said that He was "meek and lowly in heart." (Matt. 11:29)
Yet, He was quite bold to stand verbally against the hypocrites of the world!
He did not mind driving the money changers and sellers of animals out of the temple!
Meekness does not imply weakness! Meekness is self-discipline!
My meekness should be self-discipline enough to stand boldly against the evils of the world and proclaim truth.
With David I cry, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me!" (Ps 51:10)
When I am found lacking, let me fall on my knees before my God.
Let me confess sin, and surrender anew to the doing of His will.
Love ya,
Bruce
