THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
On one of the earlier editions of the television show "America's Funniest Home Videos" there was a segment from Japan. It showed a brother and sister coming to a very larg break in the sidewalk. The boy made it across easily, but his little sister was afraid.
After several moments of trying to coax her across, he finally laid down across the break in the sidewalk. Then his sister walked across him to the other side.
Needless to say, that video caught the hearts of all those who watched.

Eph 3:19
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
KJV

To KNOW the love of Christ, we must EXPERIENCE it.
To try and define the love of Christ is impossible. We would first have to define the Majesty of our Lord. Can we define how He was in glory? Can we define how the mighty angels proclaimed His Name and sang in wonderful chorus His praises? Can we define how He reigned over all the universe, holy and righteous in all beauty? Can we define how He created the heavens and the earth and was enthroned in the matchless height of them? NO!
Then we would have to define how He became a man. Can we tell how he humbled Himself from His holy glory to become a man in flesh? Can we tell how He became a man of sorrows, a man rejected of His own people, and how he would bleed and die for them? Can we define how He submitted Himself to the laws of God and was perfect in all His ways? Can we tell how He willingly surrendered Himself to become our only acceptable sacrifice of atonement? Can we explain how Calvary was such a shame to Almighty God? NO!
God DEMONSTRATED His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8)
Oh! The depth, the length, the width and height of God's love for us! That love bridged the gap that separated holiness from unholiness; from perfection to sinfulness. His is boundless love: matchless, endless, unparalleled.
No. We cannot DEFINE God's love for us. We must EXPERIENCE His love to KNOW it.
We can experience God's love by yielding to Him in sweet surrender: by becoming His servant and being obedient children. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)
We can experience God's love by learning of Him through reading the Bible. Come, o lost man, into the depths and beauty of His love by surrendering to His Lordship and experiencing His forgiveness.
We can demonstrate our love for God by finding His will and obeying it. Come, o Christian, experience greater depths and beauty of His love by studying the Bible and daily yielding to His Lordship.
Love ya,
Bruce
