THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

The State Trooper stopped a man on the road for speeding. When he looked in the car, he saw a dozen machetes. The Trooper asked the man what all those machetes were for. The man answered, "I'm a juggler, on the way to do an act in the next town."

The Trooper said, "Wow! You can juggle those things? Let me see ya do it."

The driver began to juggle the machetes on the side of the road.

A man and his wife passed by and saw what was happening.
He said, "Wow! I'm glad that Trooper didn't stop me! Look at the test they're giving nowadays!"

THOUGHT______________________________________________________________________

The Christian's love for God is born in the "only begotten of the Father," our Lord Jesus Christ. His love was demonstrated in the emptying of Himself to be what we needed. He was "born under the law," lived perfectly by the law, and removed the curse of the law for our sakes.

His love is an open love.
His love is a sacrificial love.
His love is an undenying love.

As He loved us, so should we love Him.

Our love for Christ should be greater than the love we have toward any other being. And that love should be expressed with openness, publicly avowing Him to be the love, hope and joy of our lives.

Yes, we have possessions in this world. We do not hold them tightly, but we constantly cling to the love of Christ in our lives. And we willingly give sacrificially in order to further His Kingdom on this earth. We spend in order to promote the Gospel of His salvation to others.

We deny ourselves for His sake, but we can never deny Him! All the persecution and ridicule in the world cannot separate us from the love of God shown in our Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus, help us pass the test today.
May the movement of Your Holy Spirit in our hearts help us today to openly express our love through:
personal relationship in prayerfulness,
diligent studiousness in His Word,
attendance and giving through His "body" - the church,
and involvement in ministry, willingly sharing the Gospel of salvation in His Name.

Love ya,
Bruce
