THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><>
A couple were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Of course, we must understand, all our faculties are not the same after 50 years.
They were in 2 chairs, side by side, in a very large circle of friends. He leaned over to her and said, "Woman, after 50 years, I'm proud of you!"
She leaned over to him and said, "Well, after 50 years, I'm tired of you too!"

Gen 2:23
3 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Eph 5:22
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 5:25
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

If you ask a marital counselor what reason couples give most often for divorce, he'll likely say, "They said they just fell out of love."
It's sad, but true, that most couples measure their marriage by emotions. Emotions are only a part of the full commitment. Love encompasses feelings; but love is a commitment.
Are you committed to being all that you can be in your marital role? When you spend time with your spouse, be attentive and express your commitment to him/her with words and actions.
We might say the same thing about our commitment to Jesus. If we are committed to LOVE Christ, then we will go beyond how we FEEL. We feel a different strain of emotions when we are having a "mountain top" experience than when we are having a "valley" experience. But if we don't have the "valleys," we don't learn how to climb the mountains!
Life has ups and downs; sadness and gladness; fear and safety; hope and bleakness. But Christ has promised to be there in ALL our experiences.
Are you experiencing Christ in ALL that you do? Are you expressing your commitment to Him in words and actions?
Love ya,
Bruce

It is commitment that holds relationships together in tough times.
