Our God and Creator made man and woman, Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve. God created man and woman for the purpose of procreation (See Genesis 1:27 - 28). How many children can be born of homosexual or lesbian partnerships?
In some six thousand years of history, every civilization has been built upon the foundation of marriage. It is one of the two institutions that God Himself formed on this earth - the other being the church, which incidently is called "the Bride of Christ."
The natural sensual pleasures of man and woman are fulfilled in marriage: an irrepressible desire for companionship, intimacy, and even spiritual bonding.
Some civilizations have permitted and even endorsed homosexuality: Sodom and Gomorrah, Greece, and even the Roman empire. But none of those civilizations endured! And even in those civilizations, when homosexuality was tolerated, marriage continued to the honored in both law and custom.
Why is it then, that some of our Congressmen and Senators will not endorse a Federal Marriage Amendment? If the institution of marriage is not soon protected by a Constitutional amendment, a few activist judges could declare the State laws of marriage unconstitutional! What would that do to the traditional family?
Can you imagine an America with permitted and even endorsed same-sex marriages? Under threat of discrimination suit, our educational system would have to rewrite all elementary school stories to include "Mom and Mom," or "Dad and Dad." Children would not be taught sexual differences.
Federal and State adoption and foster-care laws would have to be rewritten. Social Security would certainly be defunct. Religious freedom will be jeopardized.
And then, the America we know will soon become "as it was in the days of Noah" (Matthew 24:37).
Marriage is the institution which symbolizes the relationship between Christ and His church. Changing that God-given plan is immoral and indecent. Permitting and endorsing same-sex marriages is legalizing what God calls an "abomination" (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:27).
As Christians, let us stand for God-ordained marriage. Call your Senators and Congressmen today and ask them to vote for a Federal Marriage Amendment.
