THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

There was a Cardinal (Von Faulhaber) of Germany who visited Albert Einstein. Einstein said, "Sir, I respect religion, but I believe in mathematics. Probably it is the other way around with you."
The Cardinal said, "Oh no. To me, both are merely expressions of the same exactness."
Einstein said, "But...what would you say if mathematical science one day came to conclusions which directly contradicted religion beliefs?"
Cardinal Faulhaber said, "I have the higest regard for the competence of mathematicians. I am SURE they would not rest until they discovered their MISTAKE!"

Gal 2:20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

When we closely examine the Scripture above, we find there are three very significant facts about the decision to become a Christian.
First, it is a PERSONAL DECISION. The Scripture says, "I am crucified with Christ..." "I" must make that decision because no one else can do it for me. "I" must make that decision because one cannot ride into heaven on the coattails of social religion.
Secondly, it is a LIFE-GIVING DECISION. The Scripture says, "...nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." When Christ begins to inhabit our souls, THEN we come to know REAL LIFE. A man joined our church by moving his letter one time. Several months later, he came down the aisle and told me he wanted to make a profession of faith in Christ and be baptized. Later I went to visit with him. He told me, "I didn't know what REAL LIFE was until I SURRENDERED to Christ."
Thirdly, it is a DECISION TO GROW. The Scripture says, "..the life which I NOW live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." No longer do I live by my own power, but by GOD'S power! And His power is for His purposes. He helps me GROW so I can be useful in His work.
YUP! I'll preach it as long as God gives me breath: Without surrender to Christ there is no salvation; and with surrender there is REAL LIFE!
Love ya,
