THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Anthony Evans says this is a true story.
One of the Sunday School teachers was telling her preschool class about Jesus' arrest, trial, and crucifixion. She had all the children's undivided attention. Even little Michael was listening.
When she finished the lesson, she asked for questions. Michael's hand was the first to go up!
He said, "I just want to know one thing, where were the State Police when all this was happening?"

Ps 31:7
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy : for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
KJV

Have you done some meditation on the word "mercy?"
Mercy is the love of God extended by grace, offering salvation from eternal death to all who will yield to His Lordship. We are sinners all. Only God's compassion and love could save us from our own sin.
God's mercy "..considered my trouble.." God saw my state of sinfulness and offered a way of His forgiveness and eternal reward through Christ.
God's mercy is undeserved, for He has "known my soul in adversities." Had the Light not come into the world, I would never have known I was dying in darkness. Had He not died on the cross and resurrected, I would never have known about eternal life. Had He not sent messengers to tell me of His salvation, I would have continued on my path to hell.
God's mercy is infinitely great. It is unmeasurable. His extension of mercy is so great that it includes gross sinners. He not only offers forgiveness, but also Divine favor. He is willing to adopt us with full-fledged privileges into His family. This mercy encourages our failing spirits, puts a smile on our face and an eternal hope in our hearts.
God's mercy is inexhaustible. Millions have received His wonderful offer, yet His mercy is undiminished. Today, His mercy is as fresh and new to the sinner as it was in the Garden of Eden.
God's mercy is eternal, and offers His presence, provision and protection. He has said, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." He is with me in temptation. He is with me in trouble. And He will be with me in death.
YES! "I will be GLAD and REJOICE in Thy MERCY!!"
Love ya,
