THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Avis Hewett's second-grade Sunday School class had been emphasizing the memorization of Scripture. One little seven-year-old was beginning to really "get into" the program. And it seems he was working on his memory work at home.
His dad was inquiring into the whole procdure and asked him what prize or reward he would get if he learned all those Scriptures.
His sone looked at him for a moment with that childlike look, and said, "We get to learn MORE!"

Lam 3:21-23
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
KJV

This is a great Scripture passage to memorize!

Do you recall having been in bondage to sin? Many times our memory serves to enslave us to our past sins. And sometimes our mind looks forward with bleakness to things that COULD happen.

But if we'll remember that it is God's MERCY that saved us, our minds will be on the right track. Then we can look forward and know that God is STILL saving us every day. God is ALWAYS in the saving business for His children.

It is because of His mercy that we are not "eaten up" by the evils of the world today. God's mercy and compassion NEVER fails! Jeremiah says, "They are NEW every morning!"

Wisdom can easily transfer memory to comfort! God is forever FAITHFUL!

Let us daily turn to the "Book of Truth" and see how God's candle of light awakens our souls.
Let us daily remember how our Lord's mercy is constantly with us.
Let us daily remember how His grace supplies all our need.

Let our minds become a comforting place for remembrance.
MEMORIZE the Scripture!

Love ya,
Bruce
