THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
When my Uncle Bob was 12 or 13, my Aunt Leta (his sister) was already married. Aunt Leta's husband, Uncle Jr., was a wonderful man with a great sense of ability to encourage youth. All the young people really respected him.
Uncle Jr. was out in the front yard, and Uncle Bob had just come up with his bow and arrow. Uncle Jr. yelled from about 100 yards away, "Bet ya can't hit me, Bob."
Uncle Bob said, "Well, I don't wanna hurt ya."
Uncle Jr. said, "Nah. Ya can't hit me."
Uncle Bob pulled the bow back, and let an arrow loose.
It hit Uncle Jr. in the right leg!
Uncle Jr. carried that scar the rest of his life. But he never complained. He always said, "Well, I really didn't think he was that good of a shot!"

Rom 5:20-21
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Greek word for sin is hamartia. And it literally means "missing the mark." The Greek word is used in the New Testament as a means of defining a principle, a source of action, or an inward element that produces wrong action.
One might say that God proscribed the "mark" of holy fellowship with Him for mankind. When you and I "miss the mark" God proscribed for us, we SIN. It's not that we DO sin; for the fact is, that sin IN us causes actions that we call sin.
When man first sinned, God introduced "law" in order to make sin seem more and more ugly. But as man continued to sin, God's grace still "abounded" more and more.
Until one day, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into this world.
Though sin "reigned unto death" in all men, "righteousness" came in Jesus.
Therefore, "grace" became the victor over sin!
The grace God demonstrated, by Jesus, became victor over the internal action that causes sin in mankind. His righteousness overcame our unrighteousness.
And, now, "grace" reigns victorious over sin in us!
Because when we surrender to Jesus as Lord of our lives, His righteousness covers us! And Jesus give us "eternal life" through our trust in Him!
We may carry the scars of sin, but Christ heals and gives LIFE!
Love ya,
Bruce
