THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

I heard my wife telling a neighbor that I was a model husband.

I felt pretty good about that, until I looked up "model" in the dictionary.
It says "a small immitation of the real thing."

Phil 2:14-16
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Remember how the Israelites "murmured" against Moses (Ex. 15:24, Num. 14:3)?
Remember how Miriam and Aaron "disputed" with Moses (Num. 12:1)?

As Christians we are called to be "lights in the world."
Lights give illumination, not "murmurings and disputings!"

This world is indeed filled with moral and intellectual distortion.
It is filled with people who take every occasion to pervert righteousness.
People will complain and find fault with anything that is pure; righteous.

Yet, as Christians, we are given a Divine mandate to introduce the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ into this world (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Let us remember, Christians, we are to extend to others "the Word of LIFE"!
Let us be without constant griping and complaining.
Let our reputations be such that we are called "blameless and harmless, the sons of God!"

As you live among the moral and intellectual distortion of the world,
"shine as lights!"
Illuminate, guide, and, above all, keep a cheerful attitude!
It's good to be a "small immitation of the Real Thing" - Jesus!

Love ya,
Bruce
