THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Yesterday, David Rader told a little "funny" about his Aunt. She would pray before each meal, but she would never say "amen."

Someone asked her once why she didn't say "amen?"

She said, "Because I'm not through praying yet."

Ps 109:4
For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
KJV

David loved the Lord. And because of his devotion to doing God's will, many people became "adversaries." When they could not find some fault in David, they made up "lies." He had tried to do all that he could to please king Saul, but had been chased off from his own home. He had been despised and hunted like an animal.

But David didn't waste time trying to quash rumors, or even fight against his own countrymen who tried to do him harm. Instead, he GAVE HIMSELF to prayer! He spent time pleading his cause before the Almighty God.

At times, God uses circumstances to put us where He wants us to be. Our fight is not against "flesh and blood," but against "but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph 6:12)

Grace has called us to salvation in and through Christ alone.
Grace sustains us through the process of physical life.
Grace will inevitably bring us to the throne of our Lord for eternity.
It is best that we spend MUCH time before our Lord pleading for grace!

So many things happen within a day! Our minds run quickly from one thing to another. Our hearts are pulled by many emotions. We NEED grace!

Let us determine to "give" ourselves unto prayer. As Paul said, "Pray without ceasing." (1Thess. 5:17)
Let us be in constant communion with our Lord, the King of Heaven and Earth!!

We do not have to pray with every breath. But we should keep prayer in the forefront of our thoughts and determination.

Love ya,
Bruce
