THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A man received a call, late at night, and had to go and get his son out of jail. The son had been arrested for DUI and was only 17 -- too young by the law, to be drinking.
A "friend," at work the next day heard about it and said, "If that were MY son I would have......."
The first man replied, "But that's just it, he's not your son....he's MY son!"

Have you considered what blessings you have because you are "God's son" through Christ?
If we consider our character before God legalistically, we will certainly despair. We are all less than perfect, and our standing before God is condemned by the law. The law says that by it "...no flesh shall be justified" (Romans 3:20).
But Christians are "not under the law!" PRAISE GOD! They are "sons of God" through surrender to Christ. They are under "grace" and "accepted in the Beloved."
Yes, our sins should make us ashamed. But being "led by the Spirit" of God, we are convicted, and come to the throne of God daily to beg forgiveness of those sins. What a wonderful God we have that He will EACH TIME put us in right standing with Him! He does not do it because of our goodness, but because of what Christ has already accomplished for us.
If we look only at OUR faith, we fail miserably and see our failures. But let us keep focused upon the OBJECT of our faith - Jesus. He is both the Author and Finisher of faith (Hebrews 12:22). We would not have faith if Christ did not give it. That faith we have is strengthened each day by His grace. And our faith will find completion and fullness when He calls us home to be with Him eternally.
God's love for His children is far greater than the love of a father for his son! Yes, God will chastise His children when they sin and do not repent. That's because God wants a repentant child, living under His holy guidance.
However, God ALWAYS leads His children in G. R. A. C. E.
God's Riches At Christ's Expense.
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace , that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Heb 4:16)
Christian, aren't you glad you are GOD'S son?
Love ya,
Bruce
