THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

Psychologists tell us that thinking causes the brain to draw extra blood from the feet to the brain.
I guess that's why when we think about something too long -- we get COLD FEET!

Genesis 14:14-17
14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.

There were no cold feet in Abraham and his servants!
Abraham committed to a brave (though risky) military maneuver. He split his troops, then struck by night to have the element of surprise.
Now Abraham was not a warrior, but he didn't stop when he and his men struck. He PURSUED the scared and half-defeated armies! This brought about sure victory!
Where do you suppose Abraham learned such a thing? Well, after all.....he had "The Captain of the Hosts" on his side!
The best DEFENSE is a good OFFENSE! Christians need to learn this from the Lord's Word and then PRACTICE it in our lives. When Satan is bothering you with temptation and difficulty, get on the OFFENSE!
Go to the Savior in prayer!
Study His instructions in the Word!
Then, "walk in the Spirit"!
But one thing more, I would point out in this story. The "king of Sodom went out to MEET" Abraham when he returned victorious. He who knows DEFEAT is quite willing to receive a SAVIOR!!
Have you known defeat? Has sin beaten you at times?
Remember, you have a Savior Who is VICTORIOUS over all things. He has defeated the world, Satan, the cross and the grave!
Surrender to the Savior (Jesus) allows you to experience HIS victory every day in your life!
Love ya,
