THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

((Today is the first day of a new era for me. The last morning devotion I
sent out was November 30, 2007...that's the day I got run over! If you'd
like to hear a testimony concerning the accident, and recovery to-date,
just send me a letter requesting the next monthly CD which I am recording
today and mailing tomorrow.))

The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented
on his wearing a sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you
expecting trouble?"

"NO Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle."

Jer 29:10-11
10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.

God was telling the people through Jeremiah the prophet that He would certainly send them into Babylon. They would be captive there for SEVENTY YEARS!

BUT, God was also going to be sure that the people RETURNED to Jerusalem and Judah.

Take note, God assures the people OF His Word BY His word! What He has been telling the prophets to proclaim will indeed take place. WHEN it happens, they will have no doubts that God's Word is absolute truth!

Do you have that assurance today?

Then look at the next verse and take comfort!!!

God's thoughts toward you are of LOVE. The world may toss you, but God will ALWAYS love you!
God's thoughts toward you are of PEACE. Even though you may not have peace in this world, His peace is IN you!
God's thoughts toward you are to bring you to "an expected end." That end is not your expectation, it is HIS!

Because we are who we are (sinners), we live in this world with sin. We battle with it every day.
We battle it in our hearts. We battle it in the world. Sin is all around us, and to our shame, it is within us.

But, if we have surrendered to Christ, there are only a few years to live with that problem!!

God is surely going to bring us to HIS "expected end!" And that end is HEAVEN!

It is a place where there is NO sin!
It is a place where we live eternally in LOVE and PEACE!

And more than anything else, it is a place were we will live WITH GOD!!

No matter what your expectations may be, God is surely leading you to HIS "expected end!"

Love ya,
Bruce
