THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A flock of geese were flying South for the winter.
Suddenly, a jet passed by just over their heads, and broke the sound barrier!

The lead goose, dropped back and said, "WOW! That bird was really FAST!"

The 2nd goose, now taking the lead, yelled back over his wing,
"You would be fast too, if someone set your tail on fire!"

1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

In order for it to be used as a basis for money, gold must be made as pure as possible.
It must be "tried with fire."
Heated to the boiling point, the gold is skimmed, and skimmed, and skimmed until almost all the impurities are taken out, and the purest of gold is left.

Do you ever wonder why God allows trials to come into your life?
It's to help us draw closer to Him.
If we never get in the "valleys," God can't show us how to climb to the "mountain" tops.

Without being "tried with fire," we cannot be useful to God in this world.
He wants us to grow closer, and yet even closer to Him so that we can be an influence in this world.

One thing about gold that should catch our attention.
No matter how much it is boiled and skimmed, it never gets completely pure.

So it is with our lives.
Even though God gives us His Word, tries us in "fires" of trials, and moves upon us with His Holy Spirit, we never become totally pure upon this earth.

We may not become PURE.
But we can become purER than we are!
If we focus our lives upon our Lord, Jesus, we will draw closer and closer to Him.

And when Christ comes to receive us we will be MORE to His Praise and Glory and Honor!

Look at your trials as opportunities to draw closer to God and be more useful to Him.

Love ya!
