THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Wind had damaged the roof of our small country church.
Some of our men had bought shingles and were reparing
the damage.
I joined them.

One of them, a very good Bible teacher, was driving the
tacks in the shingles VERY fast.
Then, he slipped and hit the WRONG NAIL!

I thought to myself, "We're gonna hear something now."

But the man looked up, blood pouring out of his thumb,
and said, "Lord! Why did you let me do that?
Are you trying to teach me a lesson?
OK....I guess I better slow down a little."

Isa 30:20-21
20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity,
and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be
removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall
see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying,
This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand,
and when ye turn to the left.

Light from the Word.

It's sad to say, but usually, when a man bangs his thumb
hard enough to burst it open and blood starts pouring out;
that man utilizes a criminal vocabulary!

And, most of the time, when "bad things happen to good
people," they blame the Lord.

Some so-called Christians become angry at trivial things
and leave the church.

We aren't able to judge whether or not they are saved.
Because we cannot see the end from our finite perch.

Perhaps, they are genuinely saved, and God will bring
them back to the church.

Therefore, we are to treat them as they ARE saved, and
kindly try to get them to return.

One thing we DO know:
If they are genuinely saved, they CANNOT turn their
backs on God and His will for long!

Where are YOU in your relationship with God?

Do you realize that ALL your life is to bring glory to God;
both the GOOD times and the BAD times?

Do you study your Bible enough to hear that
"word behind thee saying, This is the way, walk ye in it?"

Love ya!
