THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

There was this Christian lady that had to do a lot of traveling for her business so she did a lot of flying. But flying made her nervous so she always took her Bible along with her to read and it helped relax her.

One time she was sitting next to a man. When he saw her pull out her Bible he gave a little chuckle and went back to what he was doing.

After a while he turned to her and asked "You don't really believe all that stuff in there do you?"
The lady replied "Of course I do it is the Bible."
He said "Well what about that guy that was swallowed by that whale?"
She replied "Oh, Jonah. Yes I believe that, it is in the Bible."
He asked "Well, how do you suppose he survived all that time inside the whale?"
The lady said "Well I don't really know I guess when I get to heaven I will ask him."
"What if he isn't in heaven?" the man asked sarcastically.

"Then you can ask him." Replied the lady.

SCRIPTURE_________________________________________________________

Ps 9:9-11
9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

THOUGHT____________________________________________________________

Our Lord, Jesus, is a "refuge," a Person to whom we can go for safety and consolation.
When we feel the emotion of oppression, and in times of "trouble," we can come to Him.

We "know" His precious "Name!"
When He was born, it was announced that He is "Savior, which is Christ the LORD!"
(Luke 2:11)
When we surrendered to Him as "LORD," and put our "trust" in Him, we experienced Him as "Savior!" Having experienced His loving forgiveness, we also "know" that even His "Name" grants: mercy, grace, inspiration, encouragement, hope and peace.

Our Lord, Jesus has promised NEVER to "forsake thee!" (Hebrews 13:5)
As amazing and incomprehensible as it seems, He is our constant Companion!

Though our Lord sits high on the throne of God in "Zion," He is always available to those who "know" Him!

Let us "Sing praises" to Him!
Let our mouths be a constant gospel song!

And let us "declare among the people His doings!"

Love ya,
Bruce
